Launch Fayette Affirmations

Eligibility (Required)

Launch Fayette Portfolio and Flex memberships are open to residents of Fayette County, Georgia. Student membership is open to students enrolled at Fayette County Public Schools or Southern Crescent Technical College. Affiliate membership is open to Fayette County residents or persons employed by a company located in Fayette County.

Background Check Authorization (Required)

Corporate, Portfolio and Flex members must complete a background check which will be charged as an application fee.

Educational Facility (Required)

Launch Fayette is co-located with an educational facility which is a weapon-free zone and tobacco-free zone. No type of weapon is allowed on campus and no tobacco products (smoked, smokeless, vapes, or otherwise) are allowed on campus.

No Guarantee of Success (Required)

I understand that Launch Fayette cannot guarantee that I will be successful in my business/venture. Furthermore, the benefits gained from participation in Launch Fayette are a result of time, energy, and dedication to the program, and thus are not based solely on the completion classes and coursework. I further understand and authorize Launch Fayette to provide applicable information to any assigned mentors or counselors. I understand that any information release is to be held in strict confidence by those persons.

Advice/Participation (Required)

I understand that the facilitators of Launch Fayette rely upon the active participation and assistance of local volunteers in order to effectively operate the program. These volunteers include, but are not limited to, mentors and speakers. I understand that Launch Fayette is most effective when participants are willing to freely share experiences and advice with one another during the course of the program. In order to encourage these vital contributions, as well as those of program staff and facilitators, I hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless Launch Fayette, program staff, facilitators, volunteers, and fellow participants from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action that I may hereafter have based upon the advice provided during the program and I understand that I am entirely responsible for the results of the decisions I make involving my business/venture during and as the result of my participation in Launch Fayette.

Photography, Videography, and Likeness Usage (Required)

I do hereby give permission to Launch Fayette , its agents, and others working under its authority, full and free use of video/photographs containing my image/likeness. I understand these images may be used for promotional, news, research, and/or educational purposes. I hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless Launch Fayette and its agents from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action that I may hereafter have reason for anything contained in the video/photographs.

Membership Fees and Other Payments (Required)

I agree to prompt payment of membership fees for the selected membership level and assigned workspace. I agree to maintain the assigned space in an orderly manner and Corporate and Portfolio members with assigned spaces agree to vacate that space within 5 working days and return all assigned access devices at the end of their membership. If an access device is lost, I will notify Launch Fayette staff immediately.

Personal Items (Required)

Launch Fayette and the Fayette County Board of Education are not responsible for any business and/or personal items brought into the Launch Fayette facility. I agree to hold harmless Launch Fayette and the Fayette County Board of Education for any losses and/or damages to such items brought into the Launch Fayette facility. Members are encouraged to have their own insurance to cover any potential losses of business and/or personal items.

Internet Usage (Required)

Members will have access to the Internet through the Launch Fayette wireless network in a Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) framework. The Internet usage Policy applies to all Internet users (individuals working for the company, including permanent full-time and part-time employees, contract workers, temporary agency workers, business partners, and vendors) who access the Internet through the network. The member’s Internet users are expected to be familiar with and to comply with this policy, and are also required to use their common sense and exercise their good judgment while using Internet services.

Access is granted subject to Launch Fayette policies and local, state and federal laws. Appropriate use should always be legal and ethical, conform to the mission of Launch Fayette, and show restraint in the consumption of shared resources. Users should demonstrate respect for intellectual property rights; ownership of data; system security mechanisms; and individuals’ rights to privacy, freedom of speech, and freedom from intimidation, harassment, and annoyance. Launch Fayette is not responsible for illegal, unacceptable or unethical use of the information technology environment, including computers and computer networks or electronic communication systems.

Users of electronic mail systems should be aware that, in addition to being subject to authorized access, electronic mail in its present form cannot be secured and is vulnerable to unauthorized access and modification by third parties. Launch Fayette retains the right to monitor and restrict users for any reason, which degrades performance of the information technology environment. Because of the open nature of the Internet, Launch Fayette cannot be held responsible for what content the user might encounter.

Though not exhaustive, the following list is provided to emphasize that these activities are NOT allowed on the Launch Fayette network: hacking; unauthorized use of facilities, account access codes, privilege or information; any activity that violates the laws, regulations and rules, whether federal, state, local; willful destruction or damage to computers or data; unauthorized monitoring of communications equipment; violation of network security or attempts to break password restrictions; defamation or any conduct that is offensive or threatening to any individual or group; accessing obscene, pornographic or hate-based material or web sites; accessing hacker or cracker material or sites; posting, sending or acquiring sexually explicit or sexually oriented material, hate-based material, and hacker-related material; creation, installation or spread of a computer virus of any type; attempting system crashes; and unauthorized access to private information or any information belonging to another.

Internet access will be discontinued upon termination of membership or disciplinary action arising from violation of this policy.
