Many water filtration facilities produce clean water for daily human necessity that is essential to life. However, many waterborne diseases such as typhoid and polio stem from contaminated water notable in underdeveloped countries and rural areas. Moreover, the high costs associated with producing clean water makes this impractical for third-world countries facing severe water contamination issues. Most of these areas lack the access to electricity, making clean water almost unobtainable. All these issues inspired us to propose a sustainable, affordable, and easily accessible solution to produce clean water. The Solar Sip is capable of absorbing contaminated water and releasing filtered water upon exposure to sunlight. Our product is designed to resolve accessibility and sustainability challenges by only using renewable energy to filter out contaminated water. We will bring a low-cost and environmentally friendly filtration method to these countries in need of clean water.
